Meet the team

Andrew is a Chartered Structural Engineer who has previously worked as a site engineer for a major regional contractor and also for a variety of consultants on projects ranging in construction value from a £1,000 to £130M. His past experience includes sports stadia, industrial process facilities, warehousing and education projects.

Since forming ARC Engineers Andrew has developed a robust client list and developed a practice which undertakes a wide variety of work ranging from structural inspections and residential extensions to multimillion pound healthcare projects.

A Chartered Structural Engineer, Brian joined ARC Engineers in early 2011 as our Technical Director. With over thirty years extensive experience in all aspects of construction, Brian’s role within the company ensures we deliver sound, well engineered solutions.

With a broad range of project experience, Brian also specializes in the following areas:

• All aspects of ground works and foundation design.
• Specialist foundation designs for dynamic loading.
• Reinforced concrete structures including medium and high rise buildings.
• Civil Engineering design for water treatment works.
• Visiting Tutor at Huddersfield University Department of Architecture.

Joy is our office manager, providing necessary support to the Engineering staff, keeping our files in order, making sure the bills are paid and invoicing clients. Joy has many years’ experience in manufacturing and healthcare, and is enjoying the challenges that working within construction is bringing.

A Chartered Structural Engineer, Matt joined ARC Engineers in early 2012 as our Associate. With over ten years experience in structural design, Matt’s role within the company ensures we deliver efficient well engineered structural designs.

With a broad range of project experience, Matt also specializes in the following areas:

• All aspects of foundation design.
• Reinforced concrete structures including medium and high rise buildings.
• Steel frame design including large span trusses and complicated layouts.
• Load bearing masonry design .
• Value Engineering for tender assistance.

Lee is a Structural Engineer with over 7 years experience in both Structural and Civil Engineering design. His experience covers Traffic and Transport engineering as well highway inspections and scheme designs for the Area maintenance networks.

Lee also has experience with Development Control and his experience led him to a secondment in Eastern Europe with a major international consultant to undertake network improvements and highlight health and safety issues.

Lee transferred from Infrastructure design to Building Structures design in 2006 and since then has been engaged in the role of Structural Engineer managing a team working on building projects across a range of sectors which include Schools, Hospitals, Residential and Industrial as well as undertaking several key historical projects.

Brian is an experienced Engineer with an excellent working knowledge of all aspects of the design of a wide range of construction projects.  He has over 40 years’ of experience in relation to both the design and inspection of refurbishment and new build projects including compliance with NHBC and Building Regulations.

Andrew is a Senior CAD Technician with over 17 years experience of working for design consultancies on Structural Steelwork, Rail, Bridge and Civil projects. With extensive knowledge of both 2D and 3D CAD software packages he provides expert support in the preparation and delivery of technical drawings for construction projects.

Robert is a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer who has been involved in construction for almost fifty years with experience of structural surveys and designs for projects ranging in value from small schemes for private clients to major multi million pound developments.

During his time with Kirklees Metropolitan Council Robert was responsible for the design of many new buildings, extensions, alterations and refurbishments. In addition to design work Robert also undertook structural inspections and condition reports on a vast number of buildings forming the building stock of Kirklees Metropolitan Council including school premises.
